Floral Design Program

 About the Program
 

The Floral Design Program prepares students in a comprehensive vocational program for the Floral Industry. This program focuses on floral industry management, retail skills and behind the scenes information. It is designed to give students a strong, basic foundation in the retail management as well as the hands-on skills of floral design, current trends as needed for employment as a floral designer.

Topics covered include: floral design history and new trends, floral identification, arrangement pricing, customer service and conflict resolution.

Students gain valuable hands-on experience making basic, event and seasonal floral arrangements. Students take home practice arrangements after each class.

The Career Certificate completer will also have a basic knowledge to become a salesperson, manager or owner of a florist shop. The certificate will help students prepare for AIFD certification and Master Florist Certification.
